Top Toy Organizers

If you are looking for simple and effective ways to help keep your kid’s rooms organized, you may want to consider some of these options. These are different toy organizers that can help keep the clutter to a minimum:

1) The Toy Storage Bin – A toy storage bin is a tall open shelving unit that contains lots of smaller hanging bins or bins that sit on shelves. These are great because they are open air and so the bins can slide out easily for easy access to all toys. Also, since there are many compartments, the kids can organize their toys however they want (by size, shape, type of toy, color, etc.). The only bad part about these toy storage bins is that they can cause an even bigger mess if your kid decides to take the bins out of their resting area, and those bins themselves become part of the mess. Even so, the toy storage bin is a very effective way for a child to keep their toys organized.

2) The Toy Chest or Toy Box – These are exactly what the name implies; big boxes. They are usually made out of either wood or plastic, and come in lots of fun shapes, colors, and sizes (also, you can make and decorate these yourself or with your child as a fun project). The idea is simple; you just put the toys in the box when they are not in use, and pull them out whenever you want. A disadvantage of toy boxes though is that they aren’t really great for small toys that would fall to the bottom and get lost; they’re better for big toys or balls and sports equipment. The toy storage bin is a better toy organizer for smaller toys like micro machines, legos, small dolls, etc.

3) The Sliding Toy Storage Box for Under the Bed – This really might be the best of both worlds. It can contain bins for organization, but doesn’t have to if you don’t want them.  They are actually quite similar to jetmax storage cubes.  Also, it goes in an area that doesn’t get used anyway (under the bed), and so essentially it creates space. When you are done with it, you just dump the toys in the bins or directly inside of the box, and slide it right back under the bed.

Between these three different toy organizers, you are all set for toy organization. If your child can’t keep his room organized with all these organizers, there may not be any hope left! :)

Sliding Toy Storage Boxes for Under the Bed

If you are sick of your kids hiding their toys and other messes under the bed, a simple solution is purchasing toy storage boxes that are made to go underneath the bed! The standard toy storage cabinet is made for going under the bed is a little smaller than a twin size bed, but cut in half the long way. Basically it is a long shallow box on wheels without a top cover; it mostly resembles a shelf.

This kids storage box is generally on wheels, and just slides out from underneath the bed. Inside you can keep a bunch of toys, books, video games, and some kids even use them for storing clothes. If you want an extra degree of organization, you can add little bins to put within the sliding storage box.

The really nice thing about these sliding toy storage boxes is that they take up no space at all. The area under the bed is dead space anyway (or if anything, a place where dust, trash, dirty laundry, and unused toys are lost forever). With these sliding storage boxes, you essentially are creating more space and keeping a room more organized.

Another neat thing about these sliding toy storage boxes is that the visible area can be painted or molded to resemble drawers underneath your bed! Except when you pull on the handles, instead of a regular drawer being pulled out, the entire thing just slides out.

There are obviously lots of different ideas for toy storages, but this one is unique in that no extra space in the room is needed, and it also keeps the bottom of the bed from becoming an area that adds to the mess. There is also one more added benefit that you may not have though of: no more opportunity for the kids to hide under the bed when it is bath or supper time!
